Adak is a religious obligation a person takes on through a vow to Allah. Not every request for a sacrifice is an adak; the words used and the intention must be considered.
Wishing for something to happen does not itself mean a sacrifice was vowed. First recall what was said and whether it was conditional. If unsure of the wording, a person should not infer a new obligation from short online answers. Diyanet’s explanation of the conditions for vows provides a general framework; a qualified religious adviser can assess individual circumstances.
For the organizer, the first question is the intention behind the sacrifice. This should be selected clearly on the purchase screen. Combining adak, aqiqah and thanksgiving in one unclear option can cause distribution errors. The selection should remain consistent through payment and authorization.
When planning, consider the animal’s qualities, the authorized person’s identity, slaughter timing and the meat’s destination separately. An order number links these stages; it does not itself show that the religious act is complete. Final updates must reflect the slaughter and delivery that actually took place.
