The delivery address alone is not enough when distributing adak meat. The intended recipients should be identified at the start.
According to Diyanet, the person making the vow, their spouse, parents and grandparents, children and grandchildren may not eat adak meat. Other wealthy people are also not eligible recipients. If someone in these groups eats it, Diyanet states that the value of the portion eaten must be given to the poor.
Choosing an association or soup kitchen therefore does not make every distribution suitable. The institution should have a separate delivery and use plan for people in need. Meat used in a general reception meal and meat reserved for a meal for people in need are different arrangements.
The delivery organizer should tell the institution that this is adak meat and confirm distribution to eligible recipients. Serving it to staff, event guests or the donor’s family should not be the default. Delivery records and institution confirmation can document the process without publishing recipients’ personal details.
